Is it safe to read your mind?

Lord Bennington delves deeply into the mind of a spectator.

Hello my lovelies. Many of you have seen me read minds before, cards and such, but my powers have grown. See me predict a passage from an ordinary book merely thought of by a spectator. Watch as I divine which one of three coins you will select and what side it will land on. Except there are no coins. It all happens in your imagination, and yet I never miss. A bit chilling isn’t it? To lighten things up a bit, I’ll guarantee someone will create a magic cookie! See you at Peet’s Pasadena, Saturday, May 22 at 6 p.m. RSVP to ben@lordbenningtonmagic.com, or the Lord Bennington Magic invite on facebook.

Has Lord Bennington gone sour?

What could be in that lemon?

What could be in that lemon?

Lemons have a habit of popping up at my shows, but lately it seems more than one illusion has gone sour.

Worse yet, these are no ordinary lemons. Something is in them. I’m hesitant to share more, lest I scare you away from the show! Come to the performance on April 24, if you dare. RSVP to ben@lordbenningtonmagic.com, or the Lord Bennington Magic invite on facebook. P.S. Magically, all attendees at the March 27th performance won invitations to the Magic Castle. An accident? A trend? We’ll just have to see, won’t we?

Where has the milk gone?

Milk_pitcher_1My lovelies, I have a dire problem. Milk in my house and used in my performances has been disappearing at an alarming rate! I can’t seem to get a cup of coffee made before the milk or half and half simply disappear. Those of you who know me personally know the calamity I’m facing, especially with the half and half. Criminy, I have my regular performances in a coffee shop. Read More »

I had the honor today to entertain the young ladies of Girl Scout Troop 254 at Camp Mariposa in Altadena. And what ladies they were! Well-behaved, yet quick-witted, they entertained me nearly as much as I entertained them — not to mention what outstanding volunteers they were.

There was one unfortunate incident, involving disappearing milk and coffee, but we were able to pump the milk and coffee out of the young lady’s elbow. She was very brave indeed, as was my helper, who diligently pumped her friend’s arm until all the magical liquid had been retrieved. Their only complaint was that I would not allow them to drink the coffee. Let it be known that despite my reputation as a ne’er do well, I do not dispense caffeinated beverages to minors!

I’d like to thank the girls of Troop 254 for having me today and I hope to see them again soon.

Hello my lovelies. After taking some time off to mourn the loss of my dear mum, I’m back and ready to dedicate all of my 2010 shows to her memory. Mum took great delight in my magic. She will be greatly missed, both as a fixture at my shows and as a wonderful foil to practice with.

I’ll be performing a whole new show at 6 p.m. on February 27 at the Peet’s in Pasadena. Come and toast mum with a bit of her favorite drink (well…other than Jack Daniels) COFFEE! Read More »

That’s right, bleedin’ levitation. Mind you, I’m not sayin’ what I will levitate. It could be the fabulous Betsie. It could be a playing card. It could be something I borrow from one of you. Read More »

Lord Bennington Plays Peet’s Like a Well-Worn Stradivarius

His Lordship performing at a recent birthday party at the Vedanta Society in the Hollywood Hills.

I suppose all Stradivariuses are well worn, but it sounded better than a cheap fiddle.

For those of you who came to our earlier shows, we highly recommend a return trip to Peet’s. His Lordship has indeed found his groove there, and though there are still some old favorites in the show (“no, no, that’s a black stick with white ends!”) the majority of the show is new and bloody mystifying if we do say so ourselves. For those of you who have yet to make the pilgrimage to Pasadena, go ahead. You’ve been missin’ out. Read More »
